The Girl on The Train is, for us, a much better thriller than the general consensus. We’re not sure why, maybe it’s due to its differences to the well-loved novel, but on its own merits it works well. Emily Blunt place the lead perfectly and the rest of the cast are, if not amazing, certainly strong enough. There are a few twists along the way but it keeps within the realms of believability which is key for us. Certainly more than just a clone of Gone Girl which seems to crop up in most reviews. That’s a lazy comparison as it’s not even attempting to be similar beyond the fact someone is, well, gone.
