In the Heart of the Sea

Directed by Ron Howard
Starring Chris Hemsworth, Benjamin Walker, Brendan Gleeson
The Zeitgeist: rotten41%

Inspired by the novel Moby-Dick, This is one of those forgotten films that was released in the shadow of the beast that was Star Wars the Force Awakens. In the Heart of the Sea is thoroughly entertaining, the action is steady enough to keep you interested, the CGI is seamless and some of the best I’ve seen for some time. You get an interesting glimpse of the disgusting whale oil trade of the 1800’s. Captain George Pollard (Bejamin Walker) is the ships captain chosen by class rather than hard work, because of this you always want him to fail, and the star/real hero (Hemsworth) to win. Lets be honest though, we all want the whale to be triumphant in the end.
