Solid enough but somehow makes an absolutely fascinating historical event narratively average. Anthropoid also, unfortunately, falls down in the final act when, what should be a nail biting and emotional ending, becomes a bit too A-Team dor us. The Czechs did, indeed, hold the church for two hours against 750 SS soldiers – an amazing feat – but we’re not sure it was because the Germans couldn’t hit a bard door from 10 paces. Worth watching as the events Anthropoid describes are so interesting, but it doesn’t do an amazing job in portraying them.
