Well acted and rewarding whilst in the moment, American Honey ultimately disappoints when you look back on it. The lack of a real hook or drive is deliberate and ensures we feel the same sense of immediate satisfaction but overall emptiness of the characters but it’s hard to say if it 100% works. This is certainly a film to split opinion.
